2024 Baird Sustainability Fellow

Noah Salsich, Environmental Studies and Political Science Majors

Noah Salsich ’25 is from Connecticut and got his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Political Science while at Dickinson. As a Baird Sustainability Fellow, Noah coNoah Tnducted research on student and employee wellbeing with regards to climate change. Noah has also conducted research on food insecurity, the energy transition in Germany, and pursuing green infrastructure in Carlisle, which sparked a real passion of his in envisioning greener cities. 

Outside of his coursework, Noah was a Student Project Manager at the Clarke Forum for Contemporary Issues, and has planned and executed events on topics including Indigenous agriculture, Arctic climate impacts, and Germany’s cultural identity. He also served as a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Young Ambassador, encouraging study abroad through workshops and events. His international experience includes semesters abroad at the University of Otago in New Zealand and the University of Bremen in Germany, where he took coursework in sustainable development, ocean governance, and European politics.

After graduating from Dickinson, Noah will attend the University of Oldenburg in Germany to pursue a Master’s in Sustainability, Economics, and Management. After, he hopes to pursue a career that bridges environmental policy, international cooperation, and community engagement, and really hopes to work on green infrastructure again. He values the interdisciplinary problem-solving skills and global perspective he has gained at Dickinson, which have prepared him to contribute to addressing today’s most pressing environmental and societal challenges.
