Dickinson prepared me to think, make decisions, analyze problems and do work I was not always specifically trained for my professorsespecially in the English and political science departmentswere outstanding.

David Williams 60


Majored in political science, minored in English and served as a senior class officer. Was active in ROTC, intramural sports, Skull and Key and student senate.  Washington Semester coursework led to a graduate scholarship. Earned a masters in public administration (American University) and two law degrees (George Washington University). Oversaw social programs for roughly 3 million people per year as the U.S. Department of Labors deputy assistant secretary of national employment training. Earned four professional awards, including a presidential award for meritorious service. Volunteers for the D.C. Diocese of the Episcopal Church. Grandson Carson Rodriguez just finished his first year at Dickinson. (I cant say enough about the wonderful experiences hes already had.) Made gifts in memory of mentor Ben James 34, who admitted him to Dickinson, and lifelong friend Roger Smith 61.
